Meet your teacher

Picture
Hi! I am Mrs. Mettle. I teach Special Education Resource Classes and guide students in completing their Alt-MSA test portfolios here at Wilde Lake Middle. Welcome to our class web page. You will find information about our school, our instructional program and our class activities.

I have been on staff at WLMS for 7 years. I really enjoy teaching  in a diverse environment with such interesting and dedicated colleagues.  I graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park (B.S.) and Loyola University in Baltimore (M.Ed.). I hold an Advanced Professional Certificate from the State of Maryland in Special Education, Middle School Language Arts and Middle School Mathematics. I am currently enrolled in a certificate program at McDaniel College in Westminster.  My husband and I  have lived in Howard County since 1985 and my three children are all graduates of Howard County Public Schools.

Right now I do not have any pets at home, which is one reason I like to have fish in our classroom. When I am not working I enjoy visiting with friends and family, reading, music (I like to sing), gardening, traveling, and hiking, especially in the Rocky Mountain region.  We root for the Maryland Terps, the Ravens (sorry, Redskins fans) and the Orioles.
